This forecast shows the number of smartphone users in Poland from 2015 to 2021. For 2017, the number of smartphone users in Poland is estimated to reach 16.7 million. Between 2015 and 2021 the number of monthly active users is expected to grow by 8.4 million to an estimated 21.4 million. This equates to a growth of almost 20 percent in the smartphone user penetration rate in Poland. The data presented includes all individuals of any age who use at least a device every month. All calculations and estimations were made in May 2015.
The use of desktops, laptops, and notebooks with internet connection was about 80 percent in 2016. In the same year, connected tablet devices reached a penetration rate of 25 percent of the Polish population. The most common activities carried out weekly by Polish users on their smartphones were using search engines, visiting social networks, and checking emails. Among the elderly smartphone use is spreading. Those aged 55 years and older are increasingly more likely to have a smartphone and by now a third of the age group usees one. The numbers are up by 30 percent from three percent in 2012.
