This statistic displays the annual expenditure of international tourists visiting Spain between 2004 and 2020. Expenditure by foreign tourists visiting Spain generally increased over the period in consideration. In 2019, it peaked at 91.91 billion euros. In 2020, however, the COVID-19 pandemic led to an abrupt decrease.

Note that in 2015 a link was made between the data of Subdirección General de Conocimiento and Estudios Turísticos, the entity in charge of the Tourism Expenditure Survey (EGATUR) until September 30, 2015, and Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE Spanish Statistical Office), that became responsible for the same data from October 1, 2015. The data since 2015 is therefore provided by the INE and earlier data published by the Subdirección General de Conocimiento and Estudios Turísticos.
