The statistic displayed above shows the number of births in Belgium in 2020, by the origin of the mother. In 2020, approximately 88,700 children were born to a Belgian mother and roughly 29,200 children were born to a foreign mother. Regardless of the mother's origin, the number of boys born in Belgium was higher than the number of girls in 2021.
