Impact of freedoms on over 50s' retirement plans in the United Kingdom (UK) Q1 2016 This statistic illustrates the impact of pension freedoms, giving full access to pension savings, on employees aged 50 and older and their plans to retire from work in the United Kingdom (UK) as of 1st quarter 2016. It can be seen that at that time 32 percent of all over 50s stated that they had no plans to retire. Only eight percent reported plans to retire sooner due to pension freedoms having been introduced.
