'Gross fixed capital formation' concerns expenditure for produced tangible or intangible assets that are used in the production process for more than one year. This includes, for example, work in progress of construction, military structures and equipment, weapon systems, research and development, computer software and databases, improvements to and transfer costs of existing fixed assets.

'Other expenditures' of the general government sector consist of paid interest and dividends, current transfers and paid capital transfers.
