Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, was by far the busiest airport in India for domestic travel in financial year 2023, with close to 50 million passengers. It was followed distantly by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the number of passengers dropped significantly from 2020 to 2021.
