Share of thermal power electricity output Japan FY 2011-2020
In fiscal year 2020, thermal power accounted for around 83.7 percent of the total electricity power output in Japan, the fourth lowest number of the past decade. In that fiscal year, the total electricity output of thermal power in Japan amounted to approximately 789.7 billion kilowatt hours. Within the observed period, the share of thermal power output had already been as high as approximately 90.7 percent in fiscal 2014.
