Italy: ESG criteria in investment risk assessment 2017

This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted in Italy as of September 2017. The survey’s aim was to find out Italian investors’ attitudes towards environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. Norms-based screening is a strategy that involves assessing each company held in the investment portfolio against specific standards of Environmental, Social and Governance performance. Particularly, the investors had to report whether they think ESG factors have an impact on investment risks. According to the results, 37 percent of the surveyed investors considered that ESG criteria would increase the risks.
