Sweden was the European country which received the largest inward flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2022, with the Northern European country receiving over 50 billion U.S. dollars worth of FDI in that year. Spain, France, and Italy also received over 30 billion U.S. dollars worth of inward FDI in the same year, while Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the Russian Federation saw the largest disinvestment from foreign investors in 2022, with Luxembourg seeing 417 billion U.S. dollars being removed by foreign investors.
