Researchers at the Swansea University who collaborated on a study with the University of California, Berkeley, say it is highly likely that British public opinion regarding Brexit was manipulated. Their research found that Russia used automated bots on Twitter to spread both leave and remain messages, driving a wedge between the electorate.
