The Gaming Equipment segment covers different equipment and hardware that are used for activities involving video gaming, i.e., games played electronically, producing images on a computer or other display monitor. Since its origins in the arcade gaming industry of the 20th century, the modern gaming market has become more and more technologically advanced, most recently moving away from traditional game consoles to include highly advanced technological concepts, such as combining virtual reality (VR) with the gaming world. Household names associated with game consoles remain key players in the market: Sony (PlayStation), Microsoft (Xbox), and Nintendo (Switch). However, the rise of VR could usher in new major players, such as Meta with its popular Oculus VR headsets. Products included in this market can be sorted into two categories, namely game consoles and VR headsets. Accessories related to VR headsets and game consoles are excluded.
