England: EAL secondary at primary school from 1997 to 2014 This statistic shows the percentage of EAL pupils at secondary school in England from 1997 to 2014 as a share of the total number of primary aged pupils. Over this 18 year period, the number of EAL pupils rose from 7.3 percent to 14.3 percent which was a slower increase than for EAL learners at primary school during the same time period.
