In 2019, the revenue of the insurance market in Brazil represented approximately 6.6 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP). The segment with the highest contribution was supplementary health, accounting for three percent. In May 2020, the value of insurance premiums written in Brazil amounted to more than 1.6 billion Brazilian reals.
