Cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths in South Africa from March 2020 to October 2021
South Africa faced its first coronavirus (COVID-19) casualty on March 27, 2020. Ever since, the country has registered roughly 88.9 thousand civilians who lost their lives to the pandemic. Moreover, throughout the outbreak, the largest daily death recorded was on January 19, 2021, when 839 people were involved. As of October 24, 2021, South Africa was the most affected country on the continent, with over 2.91 million cases of infections.
