Infrastructure investments in India FY 2021, by sector
In financial year 2021, over three trillion Indian rupees of infrastructure investments went into the manufacturing sector across India. Another 2.2 trillion rupees were invested in the construction and maintenance of roads.
As part of its National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) the Indian government was increasing its infrastructure investments since 2019. In addition, it aims at attracting private funding for infrastructure projects as well. As an example, private investors spent 35 percent of the investments in urban infrastructure in financial year 2020.
