Purity of cocaine on seizures made by law enforcement in France 2000-2021
The purity of cocaine seized by law enforcement has varied widely between 2000 and 2021. In 2000, of every 10 grams of cocaine seized, 50 percent was pure cocaine, with the rest being "cut" products. The purity rate reached its lowest level in 2012 with only 27 percent. The cut products, not known by consumers, can cause severe intoxication. Some legal drugs, no longer allowed on the market, are used to make the product heavier. The powder can also be mixed with other psychoactive substances like amphetamines or caffeine.
