Government income from gold in Ghana 2009-2021
Revenue generated from gold in Ghana amounted to around 5.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2021. This decreased from the previous year, when the highest income obtained from gold since 2009 was registered. Moreover, from 2009 onwards, the country's revenue from gold fluctuated, although it generally increased. Overall, Ghana had gold reserves of around 8.7 metric tons as of the third quarter of 2021.
