Reasons for lack of engagement in women's sports worldwide 2021
According to a global survey in June 2021, the key reasons for consumers not engaging with women's sport were more related to the media coverage of the events, rather than the quality of the sport itself in comparison to the equivalent men's sports. During the survey, 40 percent of respondents cited the lack of media coverage as a reason for not engaging with women's sports as much as men's sports.
