There has been a significant shortage of steel tubular goods for oil and gas producers in the United States, according to a June 2022 survey. These goods included drill pipes and casings. According to oil and gas executives, equipment and sand were other materials that faced significant shortages. Manufacturing disruptions and labor shortages are largely the result of the coronavirus pandemic, as producing hubs were closed or run on reduced capacities and many businesses were forced to reduce their workforce.
