This statistic shows a compilation of survey respondents’ answers to a question about the traits they associated with different types of higher education institutions in the United States as of 2011. Responses were tallied and a ranking was calculated for the four different types of institution for each respective trait. While private institutions were overall considered to be the most successful, they were ranked 3rd with respect to honesty.

You can select one or more traits for each type of school or “none of these apply” if no traits apply to a particular type of school".
