In 2020, households in the United Kingdom spent roughly 11.75 billion British pounds on accommodation such as hotels. This reflects a decrease of 52.8 percent compared to the previous year's total of 24.9 billion British pounds. Consumer spending on accommodation in the UK was significantly impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which resulted in strict stay-at-home measures implemented across the country to control the spread of the virus. In 2021, consumer spending increased to 22 billion.
