Most of the inhabitants with a job in 2021 were employed in the private sector, reaching almost three million employees. Banking, finance and insurance managers earn the most
Although the average salary in the private sector amounted to 37,600 Swedish kronor in 2021, the salaries between occupations and industries vary widely. For example, the occupation with the highest average salary in 2020 was managers in banking, finance or insurance companies, where the average salary amounted to over 144,000 Swedish kronor per month.
