In the fiscal year 2023, electric conventional line cars accounted for the largest share of rolling stock types manufactured in Japan with around 93.4 percent, followed by diesel rail cars with 3.9 percent. In total, rolling car manufacturers in Japan produced around 1.52 thousand railway carriages.
