In 2021, capital expenditures in the mobile industry in North America was forecast to amount to 48 billion U.S. dollars, of which about 98 percent will be accounted for by 5G capital expenditure (capex). From 2020, 293 billion U.S. dollars of the overall 300 billion U.S. dollar capex will go towards 5G related expenses.
