A majority of Indians stated that the Direct Benefits Transfer was the most effective government scheme according to the results of a survey about the effectiveness of the BJP-led government since 2014. This was followed by Swachh Bharat at 17 percent. The survey was conducted before the next set of elections that resulted in a second term for Narendra Modi in 2019.

Note: The original survey question was phrased as follows: "What has been the most effective mission/ scheme of the Government in the last 5 years?".

The survey is in reference to the government formed after the 2014 general elections, which is the 16th Lok Sabha. The legislative term is for a five year duration. The elections are scheduled to be held in 2019.

*For the year 2019, the share of results was obtained from the participation of 7,397 of the 65,000 people who responded to this particular poll.
