Uber's net income 2016-2018

Uber reported negative net income of 8.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2019. The company produced losses in both 2016 and 2017, but claimed a net income of 997 million U.S. dollars in its 2018 fiscal year. The company plans to break even in 2021 despite losses from operations of three billion U.S. dollars in 2018 and 8.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2019, a whopping 183 percent increase. Gross bookings reached a peak in the fourth quarter of 2019 with rides accounting for 75 percent of the total. Annual gross bookings increased by more than 30 percent from about 50 billions in 2018 to around 65 billions in 2019.
