TVP1 was the leading TV channel in Poland in 2022, with an audience share of 8.67 percent. Second in the ranking was Polsat, with an 8.7.3 percent audience share.

How do viewers consume TVP?

TVP – Telewizja Polska – is the leader among TV groups in Poland, and its revenues increase each year. TVP1’s most in-demand programs are often sports related, especially football or ski jumping championships. The consistently popular soap opera “M jak miłość” also regularly makes the top of the list. Television is mostly watched in the evenings, the only time of the day when it surges past other devices. The average daily viewing time has been decreasing and amounted to 4 hours and 16 minutes in 2019.

Digital future for the industry?

Although the reach of TV in Poland is dropping, most of the Polish population still watch it on a daily basis. The industry is seemingly declining but also transforming and branching out to a variety of digital solutions, such as video-on-demand and subscription-based services. TVP also has its own VOD service, TVP VOD – a smart move in uncertain times for television.
