Hotel investments in Europe 2019-2020, by country

The United Kingdom and Germany registered the highest volume of investment transactions in the European hotel industry in 2019 and 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused declines of over 57 percent and 63 percent in these two countries, respectively. The highest drop was, nonetheless, recorded in the Netherlands, where hotel investment deals went down from 2.5 billion euros in 2019 to roughly 400 million euros in 2020.
