The total expenditure of India's private sector banks amounted to over 3.6 trllion Indian rupees in fiscal year 2021. Out of this, a large share of the expenditure was spent on interests, while the remaining was spent as operating expenses. Overall, HDFC Bank was seen to have the highest expenditure in fiscal year 2021, followed by ICICI Bank and Axis Bank.
