Germans traveled with a car the most to get to their vacation destination in 2021. Other much-used modes of transport included passenger cars and trains. The figures are based on a survey conducted in Germany.

2019: 23,120 respondents, projection to 70.60 million people
2020: 23,138 respondents, projection to 70,63 million people
2021: 23,299 respondents, projection to 70,54 million people

2019: projection to 44.88 million people
2020: projection to 46.40 million people
2021: projection to 39,25 million people
