According to a survey on women's equality conducted by Ipsos in 2019, around 55 percent of Chinese respondents believed that women should be better represented in government and politics to achieve gender equality over the next 25 years China, compared to the global average of 39 percent. Only two percent of the Chinese respondents said there was no need to achieve gender equality in the future.
