Australia: growth of leading nationalities travelling through Sydney Airport 2020

In December 2020, the number of U.S. citizens passing through Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport in Australia had dropped by 98.5 percent from the previous year. This massive drop in traffic was a direct result of the novel coronavirus outbreak. From the end of April, restrictions on international travel had similarly affected all nationalities passing through Sydney Airport. Although Chinese travelers were first to experience travel restrictions in February when the Australian government placed a ban on all flights from China.
