The number of people getting treatment for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) against the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in France has been rising over the years. Among those who used such a treatment with Truvada or a generic equivalent between January 2016 and June 2021, 97.5 percent were men and 2.5 percent were women.
