China: BRI project types with largest funding 2020

According to a survey among central banks, about 34 percent of respondents indicated that BRI projects related to major infrastructures received the greatest funding support. The Belt and Road Initiative is a global development initiative introduced by the Chinese government in 2013 involving infrastructure construction and investment in nearly 70 countries and organizations.

47 percent from Europe;
20 percent from Asia and Oceania;
16 percent from the Middle East;
10 percent from Africa;
7 percent from Latin America and the Caribbean.
53 percent from emerging and developing countries;
33 percent from advanced countries;
13 percent from transition countries.
