Mortgage rates per country in Europe 2012-2022

The average mortgage interest rates decreased in nearly every country in Europe between 2012 and 2021, followed by an increase as a response to inflation. Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Czechia had the highest interest rates in 2022. In the biggest mortgage markets - the UK and Germany - mortgage rates were 2.6 and 2.9 percent, respectively.
