Surfing: activity rate of instructor per month France

The profession of a surf instructor is very seasonal. The peak of the activity takes place in summer and more particularly in July. However, the seasonality is stronger in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region than elsewhere. The rate of 90 percent of active instructors is almost reached as early as April and extends over almost six months for instructors working outside of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, whereas in the southwest region, this rate is reached from July, and only over two months.

*The database of surfing professionals likely to be active was elaborated from the national file of the educators of physical activities and sports (EAPS file) of the Ministry of Sports.
Out of a total of 906 professionals thus identified, 700 were contacted by email and invited to answer the online questionnaire.
At the end of the survey phase, which took place from mid-October 2017 to mid-December 2017, 286 surveys were collected, representing 41% of the population contacted and nearly one-third of the professionals identified (32%).
