In 2019, it was estimated that around 24 percent of total investments under the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) in India would go into the energy or power sector. Another 19 percent of total investments was scheduled for the construction of roads. In total, around 102 trillion Indian rupees were planned to be spent under this scheme during the respective period. Investments were calculated to come from the central government (39 percent), the state governments (39 percent), as well as from private investors (22 percent).
