Cryptocurrency ownership distribution in Russia in 2020, by age
Members of 'Gen Z' aged 18 to 24 did not rank among the most likely respondents to own a cryptocurrency, according to a 2020 survey in Russia. Rather, six out of 10 respondents were in either the age groups of 25 to 34 years old or 35 to 44 years of age. Note, however, that the numbers provided here are a distribution of the respondents who said they either owned or used a virtual currency such as Bitcoin - a percentage of which the source mentions was around three percent of all survey participants. The figure "of which 25-34 years old: 37 percent" therefore refers to 37 percent within the three percent of overall cryptocurrency - a different approach from other domestic surveys on this topic. Additionally, this information was gathered well before the Bitcoin price went up late 2020 and was even from before the coronavirus pandemic. By 2021, figures might have changed dramatically.
