Number of barber shops and beauty salons in Japan FY 2020, by prefecture
In the fiscal year 2020, the number of beauty salons in Tokyo amounted to approximately 24.7 thousand. Tokyo had the highest number of beauty salon facilities in Japan, and was also the leading prefecture in terms of barber shops, reaching almost eight thousand facilities.
