Cash use at physical retail locations varied across the world in 2022, with the UK being more "cashless" than Nigeria. This according to survey results that compared different payment methods at offline payment locations only. Cash on delivery - a popular e-commerce payment method in several countries in Africa - is therefore not included in this overview. The provided here are also somewhat different from other figures on cashless market shares - such as for Asia Pacific or Southeast Asia - as they do not separate between online and offline.
