U.S. console gaming purchases 2022, by type
An August 2022 survey of console gamers in the United States found that 57 percent of respondents had made individual game purchases in the past 12 months. In-game purchases like items or booster packs were the second-most popular type of purchase, with 41 percent of responding console gamers stating having bought such an item.
