After the Supreme Court's decision to strike down the federal ban on sports betting in the United States in May 2018, various states have legalized, or introduced legislation to legalize, the sports betting industry. According to the source, 58 billion U.S. dollars was wagered on sports in the U.S. in 2021. This figure was forecast to grow to as much as 210 billion U.S. dollars by 2026.
