Europeans' likelihood to use e-bikes 2021

According to a July 2021 survey, the age group in Europe most likely to consider buying or using an e-bike in 2021 was 25 to 34-year-olds, as a larger share of this age group reported being likely to buy or use an e-bike. Half of Swedish 18 to 24-year-olds indicated that they were likely to purchase or use an e-bike, the highest level of interest in any age group in Europe. Meanwhile, the lowest interest in e-bikes in Europe was recorded in the UK, where only 17 percent of respondents aged 25 to 34 were likely to use an electric bike, and interest was even lower in other age groups.

Results are weighted.

Data only shows the share of respondents likely to use an e-bike out of each age group. It excludes respondents reporting not being likely to use an e-bike, as well as respondents who do not know or did not assess their likelihood to use an e-bike. The count of respondents stated is the overall count accross all 12 countries, regardless of respondents' likelihood to use an e-bike.
