Attitudes towards science as being beneficial in the UK 1988-2013
This 2013 survey shows the share of adults in the United Kingdom that agreed that science's benefits outweigh its possible harmful effects. The results from 1988 to 2013 displayed. While the rate remained at around 45 percent until the turn of the millennium, after that an increasing trend can be seen. Since then a majority of the respondents agreed that the benefits of science were greater than any harmful effects.
