For 2023, it is estimated that there will be 13 million more individuals covered under Medicaid and CHIP. Medicaid is an optional plan for the United States. Enrollment for this plan is expected to increase after provisions from the Affordable Care Act that established an minimum eligibility threshold at 133 percent of the federal poverty level.
