The largest all-time M&A deal involving an Austrian entity was in 2000, when Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG bought Bank Austria for 7.3 billion U.S. dollars, or 7.8 billion euros. The most recent deal to make it into Austria's 10 largest M&A deals included the 2013 acquisition of Statoil ASA-Gullfaks Field by OMV AG for 3.15 billion U.S. dollars, or 2.36 billion euros.
