Number of microloans provided in Europe, by purpose 2012-2017

This statistic shows the estimated number of microloans distributed by microfinance institutions (MFIs) in selected European countries from 2012 to 2017, divided by the purpose. In 2017, there were approximately 374.8 thousand loans provided for personal use. That number shows a decrease from over 383 thousand in the previous year. The number of microloans that were supplied for business purposes increased from approximately 193 thousand in 2012 to more than 285.5 thousand as of 2017.
