Cinema attendance in the Netherlands 2009-2021
Throughout 2021, movie theaters across the Netherlands sold 14.2 million tickets, down 15 percent from 16.8 million a year earlier. Besides the decrease, the 2021 figure amounted to little less than half of the record-high cinema attendance reported in 2019, before the pandemic. Still, the number of movie theaters in the Netherlands increased between 2019 and 2021.
