Card payments, either credit or debit card, at POS terminals in Netherlands 2000-2021

In the Netherlands, the number of payment transactions at point of sale (POS) terminals with cards issued rose steadily between 2000 and 2019 and experienced a slight decline in 2020 and 2021. In 2019, around 4.3 billion payments with local cards were made in the country and this number reduced to about four billion in 2020 and 3.94 billion in 2021.
