* Change of method. The source notes the following: "Due to the increasing dynamics of digital business models the statistical methods for measuring revenues were adjusted between GfK and BIU."

**For figures from 2017 onwards the source states this: "Please note: The recent data can not be compared to the market figures for 2018 due to a change of provider and the resulting change of methods. What is new is the fact that the data for the game-app market are derived from the app market specialist App Annie." Therefore, figures prior to 2017 are just limitedly comparable to the following years.

Revenues from hardware sales (consoles and handhelds) are excluded.
